We fixate on what appears before us. Circumstances, environments, mindstates, feelings and perception make up the entirety of our reality. A moments reflection reveals that any appearance of any element of such a reality is inherently unreliable. There is no appearance that will lastingly satisfy and none that we won’t ultimately lose. This realization can be our focus. That despite the urgency, immediacy and intensity, one day, everything will cease to be.
The absence of being could also be a powerful focus. In absence, there is fruition. That which we think we are will be over, and in the absence of the manifest is complete freedom.
